Jackpine is great economical choice for easy trouble free burning.  It seasons very quickly, and has a wonderful aroma.  It is a fantastic choice for mixing in with your hardwood.  Nice quick heat output with a nice flame.  Great for kindling.  Approximately 19 million BTU per cord

Easy lighting, excellent heat, beautiful bright flames and long hot burning coals. It's no wonder birch is a heavyweight in the firewood world. A local favourite for weekend cottagers and year round burners alike.   Approximately 22 million BTU per cord.

Ash firewood is excellent choice for heating your home.  Produces minimal smoke and ash, good quality coals for overnight burning and is not very difficult to split. Produces a very nice flame and is very clean to work with.  Approximately 23 million BTU per cord

Oak is KING for winter heat production. Perfect for long lasting overnight burns in the woodstove during the cold winter months.  Does not produce a very nice flame. Often mixed with jackpine or other soft wood for easier burning.  My personal favorite for January and February. Approximately 30 million BTU per cord.  

The King of softwoods, Tamarack is extremely dense and can throw amazing heat.  It forms coals for great overnight burning. Very little ash. Wonderful fragrance when burnt. Burns clean and very much like a hardwood.  Approximately 25 million BTU per cord.
